MapToaster Topo/NZ Changes

New Features in V4.0.194 include:

  • Windows Vista compatibility updates
  • Increased NZMG to WGS-84/NZTM coordinate conversion - now uses NTv2
  • a number of minor bug fixes
  • WebSearches supported for network users
  • Software and installer now have digital signatures, so you know they came from us and they haven't been altered

New Features in V4.0.188 include:

  • mouse wheel zooms in and out
  • new web search for Google maps
  • bug fix for Garmin GPS12
  • support for MapToaster V4 maps
This update is primarily intended to support the MapToaster 4 maps upgrade, however you can use it with your version 3 maps. For more information on the version 4 upgrade click here.

New Features in V3.0.182 include:

  • Save/Load Shape files - waypoints and tracks can be saved as, or loaded from ESRI Shape files. You can save/load shape files in New Zealand Map Grid, or WGS-84 lat/long coordinates.
  • Forerunner and Edge Support - added track/waypoint support for Garmin Forerunner and Edge personal training and cycle computers.
  • Maidenhead Squares - Maidehead Square coordinates are now displayed in the status bar, along with the map coordinates. Maidenhead Squares are a global 6-digit coordinate system that divides the earth into rectangles a few kilometres across.
  • GPX dialog can be supressed - added an option to the Setup dialog, so that the GPX file info dialog is never displayed when a GPX file is opened.
  • Place and Track labels can be turned on/off individually.
  • Bug Fixes - fixed a problem where some computers could not communicate reliably with some newer eTrex models. The "Use Last GPS Position" button the on Make/Edit Place dialog was only enabled when a waypoint was initially created - it can now be used any time GPS position data is being received. Some models of GPS didn't up/download the comments field correctly.

New Features in V3.0.172 include:

  • Support for geocaching.com Pocket Query files - double-click on a point to open the cache info in a window
  • Reduced Windows resource use - make bigger prints
  • Change colour/symbol of all selected points in one operation
  • No-text option for the main Toolbar - make the toolbar smaller
  • Print Current View option - you can now print the map you see on-screen, or print true-scale
  • Print unannotated maps option - prints for display or postcards
  • Print Dialog is Resizable - make it bigger to get a better view
  • Real-time GPS Status dialog can be turned off
  • Map Follows GPS can be turned off - leave the GPS running, but view another part of the map
  • Make New Place Can Use GPS Position - make a waypoint from the last GPS position
  • Other minor fixes

  • Support for Garmin USB GPS units
  • Adds ability to automatically load Waypoint and Track files on startup
  • Adds ability to enter a title for printed maps
  • Updated 1:50,000 legend
