MapToaster Topo/NZ PC Maps Options
Topo/NZ and NZAirPhoto can be purchased in Standard or Hi-Resolution options. The Standard Edition offers the best value and modest storage requirements. The Hi-Resolution Edition offers the best possible display and print quality.
You can be purchase all of New Zealand, or you can buy just the North or South Island. All of the Topo/NZ editions use the same software, including the GPS functionality.
Existing users can purchase upgrades at special pricing and TopoMAP version 1 and TopoMapPro version 2 users are, of course, eligible for this.

Hi-Resolution Edition
The Hi-Resolution Edition contains the following topographic maps:
- 1:2 Million
- 1:1 Million
- 1:500,000
- 1:250,000
- 1:50,000
- Aerial Photography - 10 metres/pixel resolution
- Satellite Imagery - 15 metres/pixel resolution
The product is delivered on seven CD-ROM's or one DVD-R disk. It includes the Essentials Edition, the two Standard Edition CDROM's and four CDROM's containing the Hi-Res 1:50,000 scale maps.
The maps are available at resolutions of both 127 and 254 dpi. The inclusion of the 127dpi Standard Edition data gives you the maximum flexibility in terms of speed and image quality.
Overview aerial photography is now included. The photos are the same coverage as NZAirPhoto, but are at the lower resolution of 10 metres/pixel, and display at the same scale as the Standard Edition 1:50,000 map. (NZAirPhoto is 2.5m/pixel, four times the resolution).
The Hi-Resolution maps provide the best quality views and prints. Remember that the Hi-Res Edition has four times as much data as the Standard Edition.

Standard Edition
The Standard Edition contains the following topographic maps and aerial photography:
- 1:2 Million
- 1:1 Million
- 1:500,000
- 1:250,000
- 1:50,000
- Aerial Photography - 10 metres/pixel resolution
- Satellite Imagery - 15 metres/pixel resolution
The product is delivered on three CD-ROM's, one for the North Island and one for the South. The maps are scanned at 127 dpi. This product is a good choice for general use, where the last word in printed quality is not required.
Aerial photography is now included. The photos are the same coverage as NZAirPhoto, but are at the lower resolution of 10 metres/pixel, and display at the same scale as the 1:50,000 map. (NZAirPhoto is 2.5m/pixel).
It is fast to use and requires under 1GB of hard disk space to install the maps, or about 1.4GB including aerial photography and satellite imagery that.
For best quality printing, you should choose the Hi-Resolution Edition.
